Introduction

Okay, so by now you're all WELL aware that organic reach on IG has plummeted. And that's putting it lightly.

If I had hair, that'd be me. 👆

So what do we do? Is there some sort of work around, or are we all doomed?!

In this article I'm going to cover:

  • Why you need to create a LOT of content
  • How to combat the algorithm
  • Why you need to post more
  • How to increase engagement
  • And what to do if it's all too much

Now, let's get right to it...

You Need to Create a LOT of Content

It's 2019 and posting on your social media 2-4 times a week isn't going to get you very far any more.

With the latest algorithm patch by the big tech giants, your content is being segmented off to small portions of your audience.

For example - assume you have 1,000 followers, just to make math easy. Let's say you make a post on Monday. When you post your content the algorithm will show it to 50-100. Or roughly 5% of your actual followers.

Now, let's say you make another post on Wednesday. Again, those same 50-100 people will see your new post. What's happening is, your content is being shown to the same people over and over each time you post.
So how do we get out of this vicious circle?

Combating the Algorithm

I know what you're thinking...

If the algorithm keeps showing your content to the same 5% of your following, how do we get it to show more?

The answer is to post more... A LOT more. Like 4-8 times a day more!

When I tell people how much you need to post, they're stunned of the amount of content it takes to combat this.

They feel as if it's spamming their followers. Well, I've got news for you. With the new deliverability on organic content and how it's delivered - it's not.

I've tested this on numerous client accounts for myself.

The ones that post at LEAST 4-8 times a day FAR out perform the ones that post a couple times a week. Or worse... a few times a month!

Why Does Posting More Work?

What happens by posting this much is that the algorithm is forced to deliver your content to more segments of your audience.

Going back to my first example of posting on Monday and then again on Wednesday. Those two posts will be shown to the same small segments of your followers.

When you up the ante and post multiple times a day, the algorithm is forced to deliver your content to NEW segments of your followers.

It's almost like hitting a new audience within the followers you've already established.

Instead of the same 50-100 people that were seeing your content before... Your posts are being shown to 200-300 people. Post again in a few hours, not it's showing it to 300-400 people.

Post a few more times in a day, you'll start to hit 500-600 people in your audience.

More Posts Equal More Engagement

Now that your content is being delivered to more of your audience you'll start to see more engagement on your posts.

With the more engagement you rack up, the more the algorithm will deliver your content.

It's a beautiful little cycle and with a solid marketing strategy you can easily get back in the saddle and crush organic content like it's 2018.

Too Much to Handle?

Look - I completely understand if posting 4-8 times a day is a bit overwhelming.

In fact, it's the exact reason I built Luxe Fulfillment.

As business owners, you should be focused on day to day operations. Not worried about how to curate new content multiple times a day.
